This Blue-throated Piping Guan tried to be as quiet as possible.
The Blue-throated Piping Guan is known as a secretive bird, one that feels right at home between the dense vegetation. Quite often they are sitting silently high up in the tree, only to move from tree to tree when it is needed. While I was trying to spot some wild life I almost gave up as the afternoon was pretty quiet, until I heard some berries being dropped. Time to investigate!
It was a Blue-throated Piping Guan on top of a Podosiri palm (Euterpe oleracea). This Guan was really quiet but as it was also trying to devour some of the berries it also dropped some of them, giving its hiding spot away.
I tried to spot if this guan was in a group, but it turns out that it was a solo traveller. The more berries for this guan the merrier.
