Nesting season has started for the hummingbirds; Black-eared Fairy.
Between August and November, I have noticed that hummingbirds have started to think about the next generation. On different spots in the jungle of Kabalebo (Suriname) I have noticed a couple of hummingbirds nestings. As I don't want to disturb them during this precious and important period, I have decided to only take a couple of pictures and will return after a couple of weeks.
Here I have gathered some photo's of a nesting Black-eared Fairy.
The Black-eared Fairy is commonly known as an inside forest hummingbird. Here I spotted a female sitting in her tiny nest, balancing at the end of a small branch. She is using a lot of cobwebs, so it is no wonder that she is also covered in it. There was a short strong wind too and she was using her tail to keep her balance.
