Still visiting Kabalebo: the Green-bellied Hummingbird. A couple of years ago, 2016, I had written about this small gem. Unlike the other hummingbirds, the Green-bellied Hummingbird is not a resident from Kabalebo. He is a migrant hummer, one that I frequently spotted between the months January - May. Since 2013 I have been observing the Green-bellied Hummingbird whenever he came by. Only last year, 2017, I missed his presence. I first thought that he skipped Kabalebo, but the truth is: he got an upgrade in Kabalebo. Here he is at the Fajalobi branch enjoying some nectar. During the previous years I have seen the Green-bellied Hummingbird always near the Main Lodge building, but since 2017 he moved to the other buildings (Inspiration Point and Panorama Suites). I guess he took an upgrade 'cause those areas have less traffic and audience. He also came for his peace and quiet. And since the area near the Inspiration Point and Panorama Suites are 'covered' with the Fajalobi branches and Monkey brush vines, his decision was made. Peace and quiet, while visiting Kabalebo.
Can't argue with that. Just glad that he is still sticking around. You may also like the following post: Comments are closed.
