Jaguar: 50/50 chance
Why it is possible to miss a great opportunity.
Even though my favorite wild cat is the ocelot, I still won't let any chance go to see a real life jaguar. But like any other wild animal in the rainforest you always get a 50/50 chance. This means that the possibility to see them are there but also aren't. The rainforest is a large area and a Jaguar needs a lot of space to survive.
We were on the Kabalebo river, minding our own business when we spotted this Jaguar. At first glance you can miss it too.
As the boat went further upstream you can notice that the Jaguar was also cautious and was on its way back into the bushes. I guess it first went to the river to quench its thirst until it saw us.
It wasn't really alarmed at all by our presence, meaning it didn't rush/jump quickly into the bushes but slowly walked away. So yes, luck has to be by your side and also you have to keep your eyes open all the time as you never know when you might see this magnificent animal again.
