Grey-winged Trumpeters are caught by one of our trap cams in Kabalebo. The Grey-winged Trumpeters are known as shy and cautious birds in Kabalebo. The moment they notice you, they immediately run into the closest dense vegetation. You barely have some time to even grab your camera. Even though Grey-winged Trumpeters are common birds I still need to manage to take a nice picture of them. A chance they are not willing to give me. For this reason I set up on different spots trophy cams to get a glimpse in their 'mysterious' life. All these pictures are actually stills taken from a trophy cam video: As you can see, Grey-winged Trumpeters are foraging as a group. They also use the same trails that we, humans, use to enjoy the unspoiled scenery, nature has to offer. The Trumpeters are also very cautious so they also 'discovered' the trophy cam within seconds. But instead of running away or look for cover, these birds decided to gather right in front of the camera. Typically shy birds when it comes to real confrontation, but not shy at all to act natural in front of a camera.
