Almost invisible and undercover: the Screaming Piha. The Screaming Piha is known as the bush police or in my case the jungle officer. A simple looking bird with an extraordinary voice. Most of the time it is quite difficult to spot them inside the forest, you have to 'follow' its sound to see where it is sitting. And when you finally spot him, he'll fly away. Here I spotted one who didn't want to get noticed at all. Instead of the usual serenade of a couple of minutes, it only called several times before going completely into silent mood. It took me several minutes to spot this extraordinary bird too as it was sitting in the shady spots of the foliage. After being 'discovered' it didn't move either, making it sometimes even more a bit challenging. The camera had some trouble finding the 'target' too. As you can see too, it didn't even bother to look at what I was doing but rather look a level higher.
